when days slumps,
where the sky sags,
where the wind won't,
when the day shrugs,
while the ground cracks,
when the day sighs,
when the air whines,
we should all
go back to bed,
and we will wake
as breeze, and our
spines will crack,
the sky won't hang,
the ground won't sink,
the day won't
droop.
